About Us
CEO, that's me! Candice Elizabeth Oyer. I grew up in the charming small town of Carlisle, Mass, where my love of exploring the great outdoors was always a possibility. I was intrigued by the outdoors because it allowed me to let my imagination run wild by exploring patterns in nature. I have always tried to have a connection with my art and reflect my surroundings into my work, while also incorporating a splash of my quirky personality.
My husband, Ian, and I now reside in Somerville, Mass., where I continue to find inspiration everyday. My inspiration can come from anywhere: a person walking down the street to a building I have walked past a million times and finally notice. Interesting beautiful things are all around us we just need to keep our eyes open and not disregard anything.
As a result of my inspirations I love to mix bold, colorful patterns together that are slightly unexpected. I am known to say, "call me crazy, but I think these fabrics look great together!" Why not? I strongly believe wearing bright bold colors can lighten the spirit and put a smile on your face.
My Philosophy
I believe design should be functional, interesting and fun. Design should have a purpose and help implement topics you believe in. I believe in a healthy lifestyle, eating right and exercise. Even though I am not the best chef in the world I still enjoy cooking a nice meal at home. If design can help promote cooking at home, which equals a healthier life style, then I say nice job!
I also believe in supporting local farmers and think everyone deserves fresh, nutritional food. That’s why I am apart of the Boston Area Gleaners Inc. Harvesting Against Hunger Team. Check them out!
